The Magistrates’ Golfing Society was founded in 1938, and 2018 was our 80th Anniversary, and to celebrate we held a special ‘Anniversary Meeting’ at Ladbrook Park Golf Club on Thursday September 20th, 2018. We are open to all Magistrates, District Judges and Court Clerks, both sitting and retired, who enjoy a game of golf on attractive good quality courses with the opportunity to meet up with fellow members of the Magistracy.
Being a National Society we have an annual programme of Golf Days, Weekend Two-Day Meetings and Matches against the Law Society and the West Yorkshire and Essex Police, at courses around the country. The format is usually three or four ball 18 hole stableford competitions when we compete for some impressive silverware. We start off our season with a ‘Virtual Golf Competition’ during the second week in April, and it concludes on September 28th, with our ‘End of Season’ meeting at Newark Golf Club.
Open to both lady and gentlemen golfers, we only ask that they have an England Golf Handicap Index. Spouses, Partners and Guests are also welcome at all our Meetings.
